Austroderia richardii

Toetoe, also known amongst children as ‘cutty grass’, are tall native grasses that are distinct from the invasive pampas. Their adult height ranges from about 1-5 metres.

Toetoe are commonly growing along stream banks and lakesides, bringing structure to the water edge and providing an eye-catching native New Zealand aesthetic.
